Abstract

The rapid advancement of financial technology, particularly within the culinary sector, has propelled a discernible shift in consumer preference toward digital payment systems. Coffee shop proprietors are consequently obliged to comprehend the implications of this shift for operational cash flow. This study aims to quantify the efficiency of digital and cash payment systems and to analyze the effect of their implementation on the smoothness of cash flow within coffee shop enterprises. The research was conducted across 35 coffee shops situated within the IPB Vocational School campus area, employing a quantitative approach that combines a composite efficiency index calculation with multiple linear regression analysis. The findings reveal that the digital payment system exhibits a markedly higher degree of efficiency than its cash-based counterpart. Both digital and cash payment systems were found to exert a simultaneous influence on coffee shop cash flow; however, when examined partially, only the digital payment system demonstrated a significant and positive effect on cash flow, whereas the cash payment system, despite yielding a positive coefficient, failed to reach statistical significance. This study is expected to furnish empirical evidence that can inform coffee shop operators in formulating strategic decisions regarding payment system selection.
