Author Guidelines

AUTHOR GUIDELINE

Manuscripts submitted to INABA Journal of Psychology must be original (or empirical) article in the field of psychology as stated in aim and scope of INABA Journal of Psychology. Manuscripts must be submitted using the Online Submission System on the INABA Journal of Psychology after registering as an Author in the "Register" section. Online submission procedures can be found at the end of this guide. The author must use the manuscript template provided by INABA Journal of Psychology. Writing guidelines and templates can be downloaded.The Signed Copyright Transfer Agreement (CTA) form should accompany the manuscripts submitted by online through online submission interface (upload as Supplementary Files).

 

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

Any manuscript submitted to Jurnal Psikologi must follow the writing instructions below. If the manuscript does not comply with this guide then it will be returned to the author without further review.

  1. The manuscript are written in Bahasa and Authors are recommended to use qualified English Translation or Proofreading Services.
  2. The manuscript should be written with correct spelling, sentences and paragraph arrangements corresponding to the grammar used;
  3. The manuscript should be written with A4 (210 x 297 mm) page size and with a left margin, right margin, lower margin, and top margin of 1 inch;
  4. For manuscript format conformity, the author(s) must use our journal template.
  5. The chapters in the manuscript (Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussions, and Conclusion) should be written in bold with the Title Case format and are arranged flat left.
  6. The sections are written in bold with the format Capitalize Each Word and are arranged flat left. The use of sub-section should be minimized. If any, the sub-section is written in italic with the format sentence case;
  7. Images and tables are placed after the text which is cited the tables;
  8. Each image must be clear (font size, resolution and line size must be clearly printed);
  9. Each image must be given a caption (bottom caption) at the bottom of the image and serial numbered Arabic numerals followed by the title of the image;
  10. Each table should be labeled (table caption) and serial numbered Arabic numerals at the top of the table followed by a table title;
  11. Tables should not contain vertical lines, whereas horizontal lines are only given in table heading and in the bottom of the table.
  12. References and citation must follow APA Publication Manual 7th edition;
  13. Management reference application, such as Mendeley, Zotero or Endnote, should be used by authors when citing a reference and creating the bibliography in the manuscript, so that the citations and list of references are in concordance. Authors are recommended to make sure that article’s information cited in the article is correct by checking article’s metadata in reference manager (including: author’s name, year, title, etc.).

 

SUBMISSION PREPARATION CHECKLIST

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format and not in PDF format
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines. Author(s) has checked references' metada cited in manuscript (author's name, volume, issue, year, title, etc) thoroughly. It is suggested that author use reference manager application such as Mendeley, EndNote, Zotero, etc. All references cited in manuscript text has listed in reference list and vice versa.

 

GUIDELINE FOR ONLINE SUBMISSION

An author should first register as Author Role and may be offered as Reviewer through the following address:  The author should fulfill the form as detail as possible where the star marked form must be entered. After all form textbox was filled, the Author clicks on the “Register” button to proceed with the registration. Therefore, the Author is brought to an online author submission interface where Author should click on “New Submission”. The following are five steps in the online submission process:

Step 1 - Starting the Submission: Select the appropriate section of the journal (Research Article). Then, the author must check-mark on the submission checklists. An author can type or copy-paste Cover Letter in Comments to Editor field.

Step 2 – Uploading the Submission: To upload a manuscript to this journal, click Browse on the Upload submission file item and choose the manuscript document file (.doc/.docx) to be submitted, then click "Upload" button until the file has been uploaded. Do not upload a cover letter and other supplementary files here.

Step 3 – Entering Submission’s Metadata: In this step, detail authors metadata should be entered including the marked corresponding author. Please make sure that all authors’ information is entered here, including the email address. After that, the manuscript title and abstract must be uploaded by copying the text and paste in the textbox including keywords.

Step 4 – Uploading Supplementary Files: Supplementary file should be uploaded including Signed Copyright Transfer Agreement Form. Then, click on the Browse button, choose the files, and then click on the Upload button.

Step 5 – Confirming the Submission: The author should final check the uploaded manuscript documents in this step. To submit the manuscript to Jurnal Psikologi, click the Finish Submission button after the documents are true. The corresponding author or the principal contact will receive an acknowledgment by email and will be able to view the submission’s progress through the editorial process by logging in to the journal web address site.
