Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of knowledge sharing in supporting human resource performance and innovation at Iluh Craft Batam, a small and medium-sized enterprise (SME). The study employed a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion-drawing techniques. Data triangulation was applied to enhance the credibility of the findings. The results indicate that knowledge-sharing practices are implemented through six main dimensions: experience sharing, information sharing, communication and collaboration, knowledge documentation, willingness to share, and the utilization of technology. Knowledge sharing is facilitated through community training programs, artisan mentoring, collaboration with community organizations, internship programs, and social media. Based on the SECI theory, the processes of socialization, externalization, combination, and internalization are continuously implemented, supporting knowledge transfer within the organization. The findings suggest that knowledge-sharing practices contribute to the development of human resource skills, productivity, and collaboration, while also facilitating product, process, social, and business network innovation. The study concludes that knowledge sharing plays an important strategic role in supporting human resource performance and innovation at Iluh Craft Batam and may contribute to the organization’s efforts toward business sustainability.
